After the Paramount opening sequence fades and shot of the sea crashing against rocks with a love song just starting to play. After a few different shots of the sea, it cuts to a long shot of some cliffs in the foreground with the sea and a beach with two people running towards the camera together with the sun setting in the background. This scene then fades into closer shot of the two people hugging on the beach. This scene again then fades into a mid-close shot of the two people, which we can now see is a teenage man and woman, watching the sun setting out at sea then turning to face each other. Just before the scene ends they kiss. The next scene is a starts with a mid shot of the woman holding a camera witch then cuts to a long shot of the woman holding the camera trying to take a picture of the man telling the man to keep backing up witch results in him falling over a sand castle. This shot ends with the man throwing sand at the woman. This scene fades into a panning shot of the woman chasing the man into the sea. This scene fades into them kissing like the scene before. The next scene fades in of them sitting together on some rocks watching the sea, the scene ends with them soaked by a wave breaking on the rocks. The next scene that fades in, also the sound of the music lowers, starts with the woman talking to the man saying that she is afraid that she will never see him again. The man then responds with “don’t talk like that, Sandy” “but it’s true, I’ve just had the best summer of my life and now I have to go away it isn’t fair” after she has finished speaking there is a short pause before he moves into kiss her. She pushes him away saying that she dose not want to ruin the time that they have had together, but he convinces her that they will only be making it better. The scene then cuts into the title sequence

The film starts by five teenagers getting out of three different cars at what looks like an abandoned industrial park late at night, for this they use a tracking shot filming the cars as they pull up. During this scene they start talking whilst waiting for someone to arrive. The next shot shows another car pull up and another teenager gets out, with this shot there is a close up of the teenager getting out of the car. Once this shot was finished there is some more talking between them all about how one of the girls wants to go back to a party, this uses a tracking shot to switch from the close up on the teenager from the last shot to the girls that is now talking. After the tracking shot the cameraman then uses a pan shot to move to the close up of one of the other teenagers talking. After this shot the camera moves to anew car pulling up next to them and another teenager gets out, this uses another close up/pan shot of him getting out.
